I don’t know whoever you are. You may not be an American. I don’t think all the Americans living in the USA will be war crazy like you. You think the USA were always the only war starter in the world for years. However, they bombed only the weak and small countries. Now, China is the biggest challenge. The war is never like those old movies you saw again. It will be high tech and high speed with 5G, Cloud computing, Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Smart City, Intelligent Manufacturing, …, etc. Two powerful countries destroy not just their own economies such that the other small economies can move up to the top of the list without the watchfull eyes of the old bully. That is a perfect dream.
The wars have been running by the genius American politicians since 2013 in many fields to give China a hard time. The wars have been intensified ever since by all means. It seems the government of the USA continues making little progress in stopping China but a lot more harm to itself. How has China been doing in the wars? You may wish China failed rapidly miserably (implied in your question). The world wide spread of the seemingly uncontrollable Covid-19 pandemic has been enable to continue by giving freedom to the virus of the Covid-19 patients in some developed countries. That is the biggest loss of the wars. Ask yourself why you could not win but suffer heavy self-imposed losses everywhere.
What a shame! You run out of better solutions to your own problems. The IMF predicts that China will be the only major economy showing growth this year 2020. China has taken measures to quickly control the spread of the new crown virus and support economic development by cutting interest rates, providing credit to the provincial government, and providing loans to small and medium-sized enterprises. Although the global economy is recovering, the recovery process may be long, uneven, and unstable.
Americans are used to considering the USA is the world sole superpower. However, that will never entitle the USA will win all the time against a equally powerful entity.

I am always shocked at such thought processes. Let me ask you something. Take China out of the sentence. Put the UK, Canada, Or any European country in the blank. Now, is it still okay? How about another question. What if another country said, “Well, the US is getting stronger. Tons of people, highest GDP, heavily funded military, they’re hi-tech. They even have an Orange dictator with yellow hair for President! Should we nuke them off of the map before they get stronger?”
You don’t like that idea, do you? So what makes it right to talk this way about China? Is it because they’re not as white as you? Is it because they have a different form of government than us? Is it because trash talking China is now somehow in vogue?
What you’re really suggesting is racial and cultural genocide. It’s no better than Hitler wanting to exterminate the Jews. No different than Stalin and Lennon wiping out political and religious dissidents. You want to cripple a nation for political and financial gain.
That attitude is disgusting. Heck NO, we shouldn’t try to start war or wipe them out to stop them! Stop them?! Stop them from what?! Prospering their country? Growing their economy? Making technological breakthroughs? Why?! They’re not trying to rule the world. They don’t want to take over America. They don’t want to deal with all the crazy and backwoods mess that goes on here. They have enough to worry about with their own country as it is. They don’t practice imperialism. They aren’t looking to colonize us.
Chill out. Both of our nations can exist, grow, and prosper at the same time! All it takes is for our government to behave better.
Only USA /West can be rich, prosperous, advanced and nobody can especially a non white dominated country. This a sickening attitude of the USA/West.
Look at how many questions here are being framed in such a way that China is a rogue country and is preparing for war just because she has become the 2nd largest economy in the world.
Unfortunately there are no lack of lackeys in Asia cheering the USA/West even though they have tasted colonialism, exploitation and suffered atomic bombs. They are conditioned to be the third best to the USA/West at the most. Second best is not in their vocabulary and mindset. The colonising of their minds is almost complete by the USA/ West.
Annie Ruth Harrison
You’re exactly right. That’s why I’m answering as many of those ridiculous questions as I can and speaking out against my country’s attitude. When I was a kid, if you lost, you congratulated the winner and stayed friends. We now have a generation in power that got participation trophies. They think they win by default.
I still have a lot of admiration for the USA. What harms America and Americans the past 2/3 decades is that she is too full of herself. She just can’t see what is wrong with the way she is treating others. It is like what they say, “ my way or the highway”. She needs to evaluate her foreign policies which are basically premised on might is right or she can’t be wrong and even if she was wrong you can’t be right.
Annie Ruth Harrison
You are very correct. I know many in China may not practice religion today, but there is a verse in the Bible that talks about pride going before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Your words immediately reminded me of it. And you are exactly right. America’s foreign policy stinks.
I have been taught by a wise man that pride is the most difficult delusion to conquer. Pride as Chinese, American, British, Japanese , Indian etc. On the other hand pride can be also used positively.
Annie Ruth Harrison
It sounds like you have become wise like your teacher. And I agree.
Glad that there are Americans who are rational and level headed. Thank you for pointing out the flaws in the thought process.
Annie Ruth Harrison
Oh you’re welcome. I love China and its culture and history. And I love blowing the minds of the ignorant people asking this stuff. It’s fun. A cathartic hobby.
Scary extreme and dangerous thought process and I believe it takes a lot of hard work to get to that level.
Annie Ruth Harrison
Tell me about it. “China big. China smart. Let’s send bombs.”
Wonder how the average American would feel when most of the world would side with China against unwarranted American aggression. Would they wonder why they have no support?
The question gives me Imperial Japan vibes.
Annie Ruth Harrison
Considering what imperial Japan did in China…I don’t even want to think like that. God forbid the US act that way, or we (the US) deserve however China chooses to retaliate.

Why does China getting stronger immediately equal a threat to American Prosperity? That is like saying your neighbor getting stronger is an immediate threat to your own prosperity. Yes, we need to be conscious of China given it is roughly 20% of the world’s population. Yes, China has built up its defense industry massively over the past few decades, but we need to think proportionally. Man Power, the Chinese have every other nation beat hands down except for India. That also means that, proportionally, China should also have one of the largest military’s in the world today, based on population alone. This is not the case. The United States has the largest, best equipped military in the world. The United States is the ONLY nation in the WORLD to have More than TEN Supercarriers. Our Military is likely the only one in the world capable of taking on and taking out multiple countries at a time.
Case in point, in the last 20 years, the US has taken out Iraq and Afghanistan both. Yes, we dwarfed Both countries’ militaries COMBINED as well as there combined populations AND we only used conventional arms. We did not even need to use the FULL force of the Military to do it. The rest of the world, in the past thirty years, has become afraid of the capabilities of the US Military. It took all of 6 weeks to take on the fourth largest military in the world at the time, Iraq, in 1991. 6 WEEKS. Let that sink in. We have been the World’s Single remaining Military Superpower since the fall of the USSR thirty years ago and WE are afraid? Yes with China rising, we may see a resumption back to the norm where the largest superpower of the day has near equals, but for the US to initiate a war against China just because they are getting stronger would be foolish.

Ahaha! You should listen to yourself. What you are saying is like grade school bullying. The kid sitting next to you started getting better grades because he works harder, or maybe he is smarter than you. So, you start to initiate bullying tactics hoping he will turn dumb, so that you can get better grades without trying hard. That’s doesn’t work in life, most of the time anyway. Just congratulate yourself that this tactic was successful in dumbing down Japan, China is completely different. Besides, the property we enjoyed the last few decades was made possible by China turning into a factory that supplied most the goods we use daily. Turning hostile means saying bye bye to affordable goods, and pay through your nose on everything. I still remembered the period before China opening up that I paid over $20 for a hammer, $30 for a set of simple screw drivers. Now, similar quality hammer costs $5 and screw drivers priced similar. All made possible by Chinese mass production. I think a lot of Americans with your kind of thinking is committing economic suicide without realizing it.
Your answered superbly. (1) school yard bullies that is what exactly the American ruling class are; (2) the world has benefited enormously from lower cost of production which China is able to do, consequently we as consumers pay substantially less than we would otherwise…

It is not like you never tried.
And if you believe that you should be the super power and other countries should beneath you, instead of a rather ordinary one that equal to others, then you should consider all of other countries are your potential enemies, not just one of them.
If you have a hard fight with one of them and suffered great losses, then the rest of your potential enemies will take actions at that time.
Unless you can win it with zero or a very small costs, or it wouldn’t work out as you think.
And, the prosperity of the U.S had nothing to do with China, even China suddenly disappear from earth and left a China shaped hole on the pacific ocean, that won't fundamentally change the fact that U.S industry lacks competitiveness. There are still other countries exists, are you going to annihilate them one by one?
You should know that in Germany's trade with China, Germany has a surplus, and the Netherlands is the same. Why? Because they produce and sell things we need…And you don't, that we can't help.
James Gambleton lives in London (1965-present)
I wouldn't do that if I were you.
China has nuclear weapons, that's more of a threat to your prosperity than Chinas growing influence in the world.
Are you thinking of invading? If so, then China would win within a week without firing a shot.
Image, the Americans will amass a huge force in the south China sea, but China doesn’t retaliate.
The Americans then begin the invasion without any resistance from the Chinese.
On the first day of the invasion China surrenders half a million people to the Americans.
On the second day the Chinese surrender a further half million people to the Americans.
On the third day the same happens, and the fourth day the same and so on.
On the seventh day America will have to surrender.
A good one ! Lol
The US and its allies are already in a cold war with China. They plan to sue China for Trillions for not ‘doing enough’ to prevent Covid-19 from spreading out of China.
To blame China for Covid-19 is ridiculous BUT such is the power of the US, international courts, judges and organisations will be bought off, ensuring China is found guilty and made to pay for the economic downturn caused by lockdown.

China-EU Reach 'Historic' Commercial Agreement After 14 Years
Vatican and China prepare to renew historic deal, angering US
Contrary to the media onslaught of interviews with economists and investors, China doesn’t pose a real threat to the US. Their military is still decades behind the US’, their economy is about half the size of the US’. Attacking them would be pointless and outside of the US’ normal behavior (the US doesn’t go into battle without allies).
You are a coward! Once someone does better than you, you don’t think about how to strengthen yourself, better yourself but fight with others to block someone to win you. Anyways, even the US tries to have a war to China, the US has no guarantee to win. China involved 2 wars against the USA (Vietnam war and North Korean War), but US didn’t win any of these.
Who will be next? India? Brazil? The EU?
If a group of countries in Africa grow prosperous and want to unite, America’s job is to break them up and keep them down?
I didn’t know that the real purpose for the creation of the USA is to be the embodiment of the Evil Empire. It is enlightening to know that there are people there who thinks like this. Seen in this light, Stalin and Hitler wasn’t so bad by comparison.
下一个会是谁? 印度? 巴西? 欧盟？
Over the course of its existence the United States has slowly and resolutely taken on the role of World leader, which has morphed into being the judge, jury, and executioner of all Nation States despite many of these regimes objecting to the United States as their overseer.
As with all empires, both large and small, the United States will eventually fall due to her own hubris. Many believe that this is already currently happening.
It can be debated as to whether the United States still retains it superiority as it relates to both economics and military. What is clear, at least to its citizens, is that the initiation of any large scale war would certainly be called into question concerning the sustainability of such an endeavor.
Đặng Chí Công
I would vote for Trump for the role of Evil Emperor though. He would rock that role.
If we stopped doling business with them it would slow down their rate of growth. This would include not letting them invest in the US and seizing Chinese owned assets here. If China retaliates and seizes American owned property there, no problem. Any American who invested in China deserves to lose every penny.

In a regional war around Taiwan, the US could very well lose to China.
In the South China Sea, the US has a bigger advantage but the odds are 50/50, according to RAND.
In a total war, China has reliable means to deliver hundreds of nukes onto the American soil. If a nuclear exchange happened between China and the US, Americans may have to speak Russian in the future as Russia will become the last one standing.
So you are stuck…
My advice? Forget China. Direct your energy to fixing domestic issues. Focus on becoming the best you could be.
China is not responsible for America's decline. Americans are.
Aaron Da SIlva (em Luto Pelo José Azevedo)
The Americans are an extremely anti intellectualist people. When they see people who value intellectual prowess progressing as is the case of China they will hate it. they should focus on cleaning their own closet before trying to fix the world. And they have lots of darkness and dirt to clean.
But China has plenty of these dragons that can reach the US in 30 minutes with each having 10 separately aimed nuclear warheads.

Your suggestion is very reasonable.
At the same time, I also suggest that you kill your neighbor's little boy immediately. He is now in elementary school, and he gets taller and stronger every day. Once he is an adult, you can no longer bully him.

You should encourage your country to try it out. Seriously.
But while you are at it,
China will grow old before it gets rich. China humiliated by India, can never face US military.

you Are a very good car mechanical who can fix all the cars in the city and everybody goes to you to fix their cars, including me, someone who can’t even read or write. you notice that year after year, I get smarter and smarter and seldom show up for a repair unless it is something tough I can’t repair by myself. And you notice I start helping my close neighbors with their problems on their cars so they don’t go to your repair garage, at least not as often as before.
do you want to kill me before I become smart and knowledgeable enough to build a business better than yours?
In the military space, US is way way way more advanced than any other country on the earth. More importantly, US constantly pours money into advanced military technology at a pace almost equal to all other countries combined, plus the fact that US owns the majority of the most advanced science and technology, the gap between the US and other countries in military power could only enlarge all of the time.
In the economical space, if you focus just on GDP statistics, China might overtake US in like 10 years, but essentially that means nothing for real. The annual combined profit is a lot more important than GDP. A large chunk of China’s GDP are generated by non-Chinese companies, which earn much higher profits than the Chinese companies. If you compare the combined profits of US companies with Chinese companies, I am talking about their worldwide profits, you will see that US is many times higher than China.
As far as China's desire to become as strong a military power as the United States is concerned, there is nothing the United States can do.
China has every right to want to invest in this area.
On the economic level, the United States is now trying to slow down China's progress. This has been evident since the arrival of Donald Trump who has been waging a real trade war for the last 2 years against China.
The results are mixed in my opinion.
In the long run, the United States will not be able to prevent China from becoming at least its equal.
In the future, I see the United States and China as the two powers that will dominate the world with equal weight. This is not the case at present.
在经济层面上，美国现在正试图减缓中国的进步。自唐纳德 · 特朗普上台以来，这一点就很明显了。过去两年，特朗普一直在对中国发动一场真正的贸易战。
Between these two countries that will create a bipolar world, the other players will have to find their place. I am thinking of the European Union, Russia and India.
In Russia, voices are being raised to say that these three players should come together to form a counter-power to the domination of the world by the United States and China.
By coming together, they would have a better chance of making a difference.
U.S. needs to change its way of thinking. Don't try to stop other countries from growing, because you can't. U.S. just needs to grow faster to stay ahead, work with the best and stay one step ahead.
Jonathan Chong Proponent of logical perspective to history & current issue.
